30th Anniversary Red 180g Vinyl 2LP With The Japanese Bonus Tracks
This 30th anniversary edition is the first release of Filthy Lucre Live as a double LP, pressed on red vinyl, and in the label's words it includes the Japanese bonus tracks for the first time.
The album was recorded at Finsbury Park in London on June 23, 1996, during the Filthy Lucre Tour, which brought Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock back together nearly two decades after the band's original split. Chris Thomas, who had produced Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols, produced it, and it was mixed at Townhouse Studios in London. Virgin first released it on July 29, 1996.
The set draws heavily on Never Mind The Bollocks and adds "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone" and the Stooges' "No Fun," the final encore. A live "Pretty Vacant" was issued as a single on July 15, 1996, and its video is embedded above. The album reached No. 26 on the UK Albums Chart, and Robert Christgau graded it A-.
