This limited digibook pairs a CD of The Last Stand with a DVD filmed at Sabaton Open Air 2016 in Falun, Sweden. The CD runs to fifteen tracks, the eleven songs of the original album followed by covers of Stan Ridgway, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Twisted Sister. Sabaton's own store describes the set as every bonus track in one collection, including songs never before available worldwide. The book carries the alternative artwork made for the anniversary release.

The DVD holds ten songs from the band's festival set at Lugnet in Falun, their hometown, in August 2016. Blabbermouth reported that summer that the show would double as the album's release party and would be guitarist Thobbe Englund's last with the band. The filmed run begins with "Counterstrike," ends with "Metal Crüe," and includes "Sparta," which setlist.fm logs as that song's live premiere.

Englund announced his departure in July 2016, saying he wanted a somewhat stiller life in which he would not tour all year round; he rejoined in 2024. Bassist Pär Sundström's note for this edition opens: "Who would have believed that 10 years could fly by so fast?" The 2016 digipak and earbook had come with a different bonus DVD, previewed at the time with a performance of "The Art of War" filmed at Stereolux in Nantes, France.

Nuclear Blast first issued the album on August 19, 2016, and it peaked at No. 63 on the US Billboard 200. Its eleven original songs run just under 37 minutes. "The Lost Battalion" came out as a single in June 2016, "Blood of Bannockburn" in July and "Shiroyama" in August, a week ahead of the album.
