Rush - Rush (Numbered Vinyl)

Numbered 180 Gram 45 RPM Double LP

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab presents the 1974 debut as a numbered two-record set, catalog number MFSL2-632, with its eight songs laid out two to a side at 45 RPM on 180 gram vinyl. Krieg Wunderlich cut it from the 1/4-inch, 15 IPS Dolby A analog master by way of DSD 256 and an analog console. Fidelity Record Pressing made the discs, and they ship in a Stoughton gatefold. Anthem Records supplied the tapes for the MoFi Rush series, which spans the albums from 1974 to 1985.

Rush is the only album in the band's catalog without Neil Peart. John Rutsey played drums with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. Sessions began in 1973 at Eastern Sound in Toronto with Dave Stock, then moved to Toronto Sound, where engineer Terry Brown oversaw overdubs and the recording of three new songs.

The band first issued the record on its own Moon Records label in March 1974, in a pressing of 3,500 copies. Donna Halper, a DJ at WMMS in Cleveland, put "Working Man" into rotation, and the listener demand that followed led Mercury Records to reissue the album and take it international. Rutsey left the band in late July 1974. The album is certified gold in the United States and Canada.
