Black Vinyl 2LP

Rounder Records' two-LP black vinyl edition of Raising Sand, catalog number 11661-9075-1, issued in the United States. The thirteen songs are split across two discs, seven on the first and six on the second.

Raising Sand is the first collaborative studio album by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, released in October 2007 on Rounder Records. T Bone Burnett produced it and hand-picked the songs, drawing on material by Gene Clark, the Everly Brothers, Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, Townes Van Zandt, Allen Toussaint, Doc Watson, Mel Tillis and Sam Phillips. It was recorded at Sound Emporium in Nashville, at Electro Magnetic, at the Village Recorder in Los Angeles and at Stage & Sound in Hollywood, and runs 57 minutes 13 seconds.

Burnett assembled the band around the two singers: Jay Bellerose on drums, Dennis Crouch on upright bass, Marc Ribot and Burnett on guitars, Greg Leisz on pedal steel, Norman Blake on acoustic guitar and Riley Baugus on banjo. "Please Read the Letter" is credited to Jimmy Page, Charlie Jones, Michael Lee and Robert Plant, and "Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us" to Sam Phillips.

The album entered the Billboard 200 at number two, selling roughly 112,000 copies in its first week - the highest chart position either singer had reached with their own work, though Plant had been to number one with Led Zeppelin. The RIAA certified it platinum on March 4, 2008. It won Album of the Year at the 2008 Americana Music Honors & Awards and Album of the Year at the 2009 Grammy Awards, after which it topped the Billboard Top Rock Albums and Top Internet Albums charts. "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)," "Please Read the Letter" and "Rich Woman" were released as singles.
