This is the Indie Exclusive edition of Dream Fatigue, pressed as a single LP on clear glitter vinyl under catalog number ROC001LPI. The standard edition is a black LP, catalog number ROC001LP. This pressing carries the Big Pluto Limited label credit and holds the album's full 12-track sequence, opening with "Penelope" and closing on the title track.

Dream Fatigue is Rex Orange County's sixth studio album and the follow-up to 2024's The Alexander Technique. It is an AWAL release, co-executive produced by Mustafa and Dylan Wiggins, whose production credits include Rosalia. After years of writing, producing and playing much of his own material, Rex began letting collaborators into his process in 2024. Of the old approach he has said, "The more minds in the room making decisions? That equaled confusion for me." Of the new one: "To let people in is to let them take the thing out of you as well."

Contributors include Turnstile's Brendan Yates, Blood Orange's Dev Hynes, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa, dexter in the newsagent and Jockstrap's Taylor Skye. Three carry featured credits on the tracklist: Yates on "Elvis," where he plays drums and sings and directed a video for the track; Mustafa on "The Colosseum"; and Caesar on "Indecision." Rex and Yates debuted "Elvis" at an underplay show at London's Village Underground ahead of All Points East in the summer of 2026.

"Indecision" was released in August 2026 as the album's first single, and Caesar later brought Rex on stage at his O2 Arena show in London to perform it. "Grandma Song" followed as the second single alongside the album announcement, with a video that shows Rex amid a fireworks display in Montana.

The songs took shape during trips to New York, Toronto, Rome, Egypt, Ethiopia and Los Angeles. The album follows a protagonist who takes on different personas to win over the girl he loves, the thread behind "Hannah Montana," "Iron Man" and "Elvis," and the title comes from that character growing tired of dreaming and of becoming other people. Fans unlocked the name through a photobooth-themed treasure hunt: twelve envelopes left in twelve locations, with clues leading to the password DREAMFATIGUE, which opened a page of twelve song snippets on his website.

Rex Orange County is the stage name of Alex O'Connor, a singer-songwriter from Grayshott, England. His 2015 debut, bcos u will never b free, tied him to bedroom pop's solitary do-it-yourself approach. Pony (2019, RCA) debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 and reached No. 5 in the UK, and Who Cares? (2022) became his first UK No. 1 album, also reaching No. 1 in New Zealand and No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
