This copy of Heart Land was pressed at MCA's Pinckneyville plant, marked by the ◈-P-◈ stamp in both runouts, where other US copies under the same catalog number came from Gloversville. Its side 1 label carries the matrix number MCA-3805, while another Pinckneyville label variant reads MCA3700.

The object

One LP with a printed inner sleeve holding the lyrics and photographs of the band. The labels print MCA Records above the Curb Records rainbow logo, with the Wheatley logo at right, and list MCA-5459 with MCA-3805 on side 1 and MCA3701 on side 2. Both runouts carry ◈-P-◈ and the FDS code of Future Disc, where the lacquers were cut, and side A spells out FUTUREDISC in full.

Context

Real Life recorded Heart Land at Rhinoceros Studios in Sydney, and it first appeared in Australia and New Zealand on Wheatley Records as WRLP 1003 in 1983; Curb and MCA issued it in the US the same year. The labels credit Steve Hillage as producer, with Ross Cockle producing Send Me An Angel and Ross Fraser producing Openhearted.
