Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business is The Mars Volta's first official live release since 2005's Scabdates. Rather than a straight live run-through of their most recent studio album, Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío, it reinterprets that source material — reshaped for the stage by guitarist and bandleader Omar Rodríguez-López — with an unusual twist: the band invited fans into the album-making process. A countdown timer on the band's official website opened an interactive vote that let fans choose which live performances made the final cut, each track marked by a cryptic symbol tied to the city where it was recorded on the band's fall 2025 tour.
