Single LP, Eleven Tracks, The Album's Original Mix

Epic and Legacy put the debut back on one record on November 10, 2017, catalog number 88985376871. Eleven tracks are cut six to the first side and five to the second, and the disc sits in a printed inner sleeve carrying the lyrics. It carries the album as it was first mixed, rather than the Brendan O'Brien remix Epic released in 2009 under the title Ten Redux.

That mix is Tim Palmer's. The band tracked in Seattle in March and April 1991 and joined him in England that June. Palmer mixed at Ridge Farm Studio in Dorking and made additions as he went: Mike McCready finished the guitar solo on "Alive" there, and Palmer overdubbed a pepper shaker and a fire extinguisher as percussion on "Oceans."

Side two closes on "Release," which runs past nine minutes and carries the unlisted "Master/Slave" instrumental. The whole album runs 53:20.

Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard formed the band in Seattle in 1990, after Mother Love Bone ended, and brought in Mike McCready, then Dave Krusen on drums and Eddie Vedder. Gossard wrote the music for "Once," "Even Flow," "Alive" and "Black," Ament wrote "Why Go" and "Jeremy," the two of them wrote "Garden" and "Deep" together, and "Release" is credited to all five players. Vedder wrote every lyric on the record.
