This is Ox on compact disc: the album's ten songs on one disc, the edition sold alongside the vinyl through the band's own store. It is issued by Palace Presents, the imprint that shares its name with the monthly night the band started at The George Tavern in October 2016.

The band's announcement describes a more open and instinctive approach on Ox, drawn from change, touring and the everyday, and says the arrangements leave more room for dynamics and space than the Greyhound EP that came before it.

"Dream On," the opening track, was released as a single on the day the album was announced in July 2026. The title track closes the record and is the song heard in the visualizer above, published on the band's own channel.

Palace formed in London in September 2012 with Leo Wyndham, Rupert Turner, Matt Hodges and bassist Will Dorey, who left in 2017. Two EPs, Lost in the Night (2014) and Chase the Light (2015), preceded their first album. Later short releases include The Hoxa Sessions and Someday, Somewhere, both from 2020, and a pair of EPs in 2023, Part I - When Everything Was Lost and Part II - Nightmares & Ice Cream. Their third album, Shoals, came out in January 2022.
