This is Kscope's standard black vinyl edition of Harmonic Mind, catalog number KSCOPE1321: a single LP with "Guardstones," "Space Platform" and the title track on side A, and "Malachite," "Tillamook" and "Sumipad" on side B. The album is also issued on transparent blue vinyl, on a limited transparent purple vinyl sold through Kscope and the band, and on CD.

Kscope describes Harmonic Mind as the band's 17th studio album, named after "the geometric structure and harmonic nature of existence." It was recorded at the band's home studios and took shape in Scotland, Devon and finally Glastonbury. Ed Wynne and Silas Neptune produced it, and Neptune mastered an Ozric Tentacles album for the first time. The record features the full touring line-up: Pat Garvey on drums, Corey Wallace on bass, Paul Hankin on percussion and multi-instrumentalist Saskia Maxwell.

According to the label, "Malachite" is named for one of Wynne's favorite minerals and puts his custom sandalwood acoustic guitar from Kif Wood Guitars, which has a malachite inlay around the sound hole, at the center. The label also notes the return of Erp on the cover art. "Space Platform" was released ahead of the album with an official visualizer, and Wynne has called it "a bit like a launch pad to the new Ozric world."

Ozric Tentacles formed at the Stonehenge Free Festival in 1983, and Wynne, on guitars and keyboards, is the only founding member still in the band. Their 1993 album Jurassic Shift reached the UK Top 20 and No. 1 on the UK Indie Chart, and across more than 30 albums the band has sold over a million records.
