This is the black vinyl edition of Stress: The Extinction Agenda from OK Records, spread across two LPs. The back of the jacket places the original album on sides one through three and gathers four bonus tracks on side four: remixes of "Stress," "Bring It On" and "Why," plus "Bounce." Fat Beats' notes describe the set as the album's first 2LP reissue; a red scarlet pressing was issued alongside it.

Stress was the second album by Organized Konfusion, the Queens duo of Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po, who formed in 1987 under the name Simply II Positive MCs. It was first released on August 16, 1994 on Hollywood BASIC, after sessions in 1993 and 1994 at Battery, Unique and Power Play studios in New York. It sits between the group's 1991 debut and The Equinox (1997), after which the two went on to separate careers.

Most of the production is the duo's own, with Buckwild producing "Stress" and Rockwilder producing "Maintain." O.C. and Q-Tip appear on "Let's Organize." "Stress" was issued as a single in March 1994 and reached No. 50 on the Hot Rap Singles chart, and the album peaked at No. 28 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The Source later included it in its 1998 list of the 100 best rap albums.
