Indie Exclusive Baby Pink 2LP, 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

This pressing puts the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of The Black Parade on two LPs of Baby Pink vinyl. Reprise lists this colorway as exclusive to independent record stores and the band's own store. The records come in a gatefold jacket with a removable O-card, a new art insert and two printed inner sleeves.

The deluxe edition runs to 20 tracks. The original album fills the first three sides, and side D carries the six additions: three B-sides Reprise describes as rare, then three live recordings from the band's October 24, 2007 show at Maxwell's in Hoboken, New Jersey, none of them issued on a physical format before. One of those live tracks is "Someone Out There Loves You," a song fans long called "Stay," which Reprise's notes say the band played on tour but never officially recorded. The band's announcement reads: "For the first time, we have included everything we finished during those sessions in a single collection." New artwork for the reissue comes from James Jean, whom the band asked "to revisit the world of The Black Parade and create three new pieces of art."

The Black Parade was My Chemical Romance's third album and the follow-up to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. The band produced it with Rob Cavallo between April and August 2006, working at El Dorado in Burbank, Capitol in Hollywood and the Paramour Mansion in Los Angeles, and Reprise released it that October. It is a concept record about the Patient, a man dying of cancer, and in Reprise's own summary it rests on the idea that death visits people in the form of their earliest cherished memory. On the 2007 and 2008 tour that followed, the band performed as the Black Parade, an alter-ego band.

The album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2 with 240,000 copies sold in its first week, and also peaked at No. 2 in the UK, where "Welcome to the Black Parade" became the band's first No. 1 single. It is certified 4x Platinum by both the RIAA and the BPI, and Rolling Stone placed it at No. 361 on its 2020 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
