Red Vinyl 2LP In Gatefold Sleeve With Download Code

This 2026 repressing of Mogwai Young Team puts the album on red vinyl across two LPs, housed in a gatefold sleeve with the original artwork and packaged with a digital download code. The audio is the 2022 remaster by Paul Savage, who recorded the album in 1997. Chemikal Underground first issued that remaster in February 2023 on sky-blue vinyl, and this red pressing (catalog number CHEM262R) follows it.

Young Team was Mogwai's debut album, released on Chemikal Underground in October 1997 after a run of singles. It was made in the summer of 1997 in Hamilton, Scotland, with Savage and Andy Miller producing, and by the band's own admission the sessions were turbulent, disorganized and hastily mixed. The lineup was Stuart Braithwaite, Dominic Aitchison, Martin Bulloch, John Cummings and Brendan O'Hare. Arab Strap's Aidan Moffat sings on "R U Still In 2 It," Shona Brown plays flute on "Mogwai Fear Satan," and that 16-minute closer takes its inspiration from Aitchison's childhood fear of Lucifer.

The title refers to the Glasgow youth gangs known as young teams, and the cover is O'Hare's inverted photograph of a Fuji Bank branch in Shibuya, Tokyo. The album reached No. 75 on the UK Albums Chart in 1997; the 2023 remaster reached No. 62 in the UK and No. 3 in Scotland, and the BPI has certified it Silver. Pitchfork placed it at No. 97 on its 2003 list of the top 100 albums of the 1990s.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

• Please retain all original packaging, including the outer box and packing materials

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
