2CD Digipak Edition

This is the compact disc edition of Future Quiet, released by Moby's own Little Idiot label under exclusive license to BMG, catalog number IDIOT117CD. The fourteen tracks run about 85 minutes, so the album is split across two discs of seven songs each, packaged in a digipak with a booklet.

Future Quiet is Moby's twenty-third studio album, built on solo piano, strings and ambient synth, with a handful of guest vocalists. Moby produced it himself; Ben O'Neill mixed it and John Greenham mastered it. The digital release came on February 20, 2026, ahead of the physical formats in June.

Disc one opens with a new orchestral version of "When It's Cold I'd Like to Die," sung by Jacob Lusk of Gabriels. The song first appeared, with Mimi Goese on vocals, on the 1995 album Everything Is Wrong, and its use in Stranger Things made it Moby's most streamed track. India Carney sings on "Precious Mind (Quiet Future)" at the close of disc one, and serpentwithfeet on "On Air (Quiet Future)" on disc two.

In Moby's words: "Future Quiet is, not surprisingly, quiet. To be clear; I love bombast. I love excess and volume. But as the world gets louder and crazier I find myself needing the refuge of quiet, both as a listener and as a musician." Metacritic lists a score of 74, and the album reached No. 33 on the Scottish and Swiss albums charts.
