140-Gram Black Double Vinyl in a Gatefold Jacket

This is the 2020 Columbia/Legacy double-LP reissue of Bitches Brew, catalog number 19075950861. Two 140-gram black discs sit in a gatefold jacket with original photos and liner notes, and a download card is included. Its street date was March 27, 2020, three days short of the album's fiftieth anniversary. "Pharaoh's Dance" and the title track each fill a side on their own; the remaining four pieces share sides C and D.

Davis cut the music at Columbia's Studio B in New York over three days, August 19 to 21, 1969, with Wayne Shorter, Bennie Maupin, Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul, Larry Young, John McLaughlin, Dave Holland, Harvey Brooks, Jack DeJohnette, Lenny White, Don Alias and Juma Santos. Tracks were recorded in sections, and producer Teo Macero assembled the finished pieces through tape editing: "Pharaoh's Dance," a Joe Zawinul composition, carries 19 edits and the title track 15, while "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" is the one piece left exactly as played. Davis sits out "John McLaughlin" entirely.

Columbia first issued the album on March 30, 1970. It climbed to No. 35 on the Billboard 200 that July, won the 1971 Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, went Gold in 1976 and Platinum in 2003, and was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry in 2025.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
