Mike Bloomfield was one of the most influential guitarists of his generation, a pivotal member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, founder of the genre-spanning Electric Flag, and a player who recorded alongside Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and Muddy Waters. This previously unreleased archival LP from Liberation Hall captures his set at the Catalyst Club in Santa Cruz, California, on January 31, 1981 -- his last recorded performance, roughly two weeks before his death on February 15, 1981, at age 37. Drawn from a soundboard recording, it documents Bloomfield on guitar and piano working through ten blues standards.
