Deathlike Silence Productions repressed Deathcrush in 2026 on black 12-inch vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, under catalog number ANTI-MOSH 003LP26. A black and red splatter version was issued alongside it under its own barcode.
The mini-album was Mayhem's first commercial release, issued in August 1987 on Posercorpse Music. It was recorded in February and March of that year at Creative Studios in Kolbotn and produced by the band with Erik Avnskog. Drummer Kjetil Manheim later said there was no mix and no overdubs: bass, drums and guitar went down live, with vocals added afterwards.
Maniac sings lead, with Euronymous on guitar, Necrobutcher on bass and Manheim on drums, and the session vocalist Messiah fronts "Pure Fucking Armageddon." German electronic composer Conrad Schnitzler supplied the opening "Silvester Anfang" from his archive after Euronymous waited outside his house until he was invited in. "Witching Hour" is a Venom cover. Despite a small first pressing the record reached the top 20 of Kerrang!'s album chart, and Q later named it one of the 50 heaviest albums of all time.
Evergreen Vinyl ships records with care and attention to detail, using established carriers and packaging practices designed to protect physical media in transit.
