The standard pressing of Marrow Deep: two black LPs across four sides, in a single-pocket jacket with a four-page lyric insert, catalog number LVR05477 on Loma Vista. Ted Jensen mastered the album, and the lacquers were cut at Sterling Sound by Joe Nino-Hernes.

Kurt Ballou and Patrik Berger produced the record, with Ballou also recording it, and Andrew Scheps mixed it. It is the band's first album for Loma Vista and the first to credit Nick Johnston on guitar and João Nogueira on keyboards, alongside Brann Dailor, Bill Kelliher and Troy Sanders.

Founding guitarist Brent Hinds left Mastodon in March 2025 and died that August. "Your Ghost Again," issued as the first single on June 2, 2026, was written with him in mind. Dailor has said the song "is about being in those familiar places you used to be with people, which for us is in the studio," and Sanders has said his part of the lyric "is all about Brent, and for Brent."

Randy Blythe sings on "A Vampire's Demeanor," Josh Homme on "Snakes For Dinner," and Geezer Butler plays the bass introduction to "The Vanishing," which also carries vocals from Joe Duplantier. Paul Romano is credited with the art direction and artwork.
