Indie Exclusive Red & Green Merge Vinyl

This limited edition of From Beyond is pressed on red and green merge vinyl and housed in an alternate artwork sleeve, made for independent record stores. The nine songs run on a single LP, opening with "Dawn of Eternity," heard above in Earache's official audio upload.

Earache Records first released the album on July 1, 1991. It was recorded that March at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida, and produced by Colin Richardson with the band. Kam Lee wrote the lyrics and Rick Rozz the music for the original songs, and the record closes with "Corpse Grinder," a cover of a song by Death. The title comes from H. P. Lovecraft's short story of the same name, and Ed Repka painted the original cover.

The lineup was Kam Lee on vocals, Rick Rozz on guitar, Terry Butler on bass and Bill Andrews on drums. Massacre began in Tampa in 1984; Rozz, Butler and Andrews all joined Death in 1987, and after Death dismissed Rozz in 1989 he re-formed Massacre. Butler also played in Six Feet Under.

AllMusic gave the album four and a half stars out of five, and Rock Hard magazine placed it at No. 288 in its 2005 list of the 500 greatest rock and metal albums.
