Definitive Sound Series One-Step 180g LP, Numbered Edition of 3,000

This is the Definitive Sound Series One-Step pressing of Can't Slow Down, a one-time run of 3,000 numbered copies. Chris Bellman cut it at Bernie Grundman Mastering from the original analog master tapes, an all-analog (AAA) chain from tape to lacquer. Dorin Sauerbier carried out the one-step plating at Record Technology, Inc. (RTI), which also pressed the record on Neotech VR900-D2 180g high-definition vinyl.

Lionel Richie's official store notes that this edition puts the album in a heavyweight tip-on jacket for the first time. The jacket sits inside a slipcase designed for the series, with packaging by GPA Global and a certificate of authenticity included.

Bernie Grundman mastered the original 1983 LP, so this cut brings the tapes back to the same mastering house four decades on. Can't Slow Down was Richie's second solo studio album, released by Motown on October 14, 1983. He produced it with James Anthony Carmichael, mostly at Ocean Way Recording, with Steve Lukather, Jeff Porcaro and Greg Phillinganes among the session players, and every vocal arrangement on the record is his own.

The album reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, held a top-ten place for 59 consecutive weeks, the whole of 1984 included, and stayed on the chart for 160 weeks. All five of its singles reached the Hot 100 top ten: "All Night Long (All Night)" and "Hello" went to No. 1, with "Stuck on You" at No. 3, "Running with the Night" at No. 7 and "Penny Lover" at No. 8. It won Album of the Year at the 27th Annual Grammy Awards in 1985, and the RIAA has certified it Diamond, with worldwide sales above 20 million.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.

Evergreen Vinyl is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after being marked as delivered by the carrier. Customers are responsible for selecting a shipping address where deliveries can be received safely.

• Please retain all original packaging, including the outer box and packing materials

• Contact us as soon as possible (ideally immediately) after delivery

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after inspection (if a return is required).

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
