This is the independent-retail pressing of O My Beloved, spread across two LPs in the "Thicker Than Water" colorway, a red and light-blue swirl. The label's notes describe the packaging as adorned with vintage family photos. The disc labels carry the Love Tap and Virgin Music marks and credit the mix to Ryan Hewitt.

O My Beloved is Kings of Leon's tenth studio album and the first full-length the band produced entirely on its own. It is released through the band's Love Tap Records, distributed by Virgin Music, and follows Can We Please Have Fun, the 2024 album made with producer Kid Harpoon. Frontman Caleb Followill has called the record "emotional" and a "love letter to family," one that explores "gratitude and appreciation." Explaining where it came from, he said: "I thought, wouldn't it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we've done and appreciating how we got here."

The lead single, "My Whole World," arrived on September 11, 2026 with the album announcement, and is credited to all four Followills. The band marked the announcement with an intimate show at the Basement East in Nashville.

Kings of Leon are brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill, and formed in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, in 1999. The band has won four Grammy Awards, three of them for "Use Somebody," including Record of the Year. Only by the Night reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and Walls reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
