Picture Disc

Varèse Sarabande gives the score to Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit its first release on vinyl, as a single picture disc. One side carries the film's poster art, Wallace and Gromit in front of a carved pumpkin under a full moon; the other shows the pair with their W and G mugs. The label issues it with Craft Recordings.

Julian Nott composed the score, with additional music by Rupert Gregson-Williams, James Michael Dooley, Lorne Balfe and Alastair King, and Hans Zimmer produced it. Gavin Greenaway conducted the recording at AIR Studios and Abbey Road in London.

Nott's work with the pair goes back to their first film, A Grand Day Out, in 1989; he met Nick Park when both were students at the National Film and Television School. His score for The Curse of the Were-Rabbit won an Annie Award and an International Film Music Critics Award, and he later received an Ivor Novello Award for A Matter of Loaf and Death in 2009.

The 2005 film was Aardman Animations' second feature after Chicken Run and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Varèse Sarabande first released the soundtrack on CD that October. The picture disc holds its nineteen cues, eleven on side A and eight on side B.
