Secret To Spare is the debut album from Los Angeles band Jawdropped, and this is its limited pressing on Coke Bottle clear vinyl, sold through independent record shops only, under catalog number TRANS977XX. A black LP and a CD were issued alongside it on Transgressive Records and Canvasback.

The band is Kyra Morling and Roman Zangari on vocals, Sean Edwards on bass and Cook Lee-Chobanian on drums, each of whom spent years in other Los Angeles projects first. An EP preceded this album, and the label lists support slots with Real Estate, Bully, Greg Freeman and Momma; in 2026 they toured North America and Europe with Soccer Mommy and This Is Lorelei.

The record was self-produced across spare days and weekends in 2025, scheduled around the members' day jobs. It was tracked live in the studio without a metronome, with vocal and guitar overdubs added afterward, engineered by Colin Knight and mixed by Alex Farrar, whose credits include MJ Lenderman and Waxahatchee. "We wanted it to sound like a band in a room," the band has said, "so we recorded live and tried not to water down what we do." Morling has said it was "the first time where we were building songs together in a room."

Transgressive's notes describe a mix of big-hearted indie rock, '90s alternative radio and alt-country, and name The Lemonheads, Paul Westerberg, Teenage Fanclub and Dinosaur Jr. as touchstones; Paste included the band in its Best of What's Next series. "Monday" was the first preview, in May 2026. "Split Lip," with a video directed by Rob Fraebel, arrived with the album announcement in July, and "Cup" and "The Line" followed.
