Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series 180-Gram Black Vinyl LP

This is the Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series edition of Moon Rappin', issued by Blue Note on May 27, 2022. Kevin Gray mastered it in stereo from the original master tapes with an all-analog chain, and it was pressed on 180-gram black vinyl at Optimal in Germany. The jacket keeps the original BST 84334 stereo catalog number, and the disc labels follow Blue Note's blue-and-white stereo design.

The series opened with sixteen of the label's best-known records from the 1950s and 1960s. Its later run, chosen by Don Was and Cem Kurosman, reaches across the label's whole history under themes that include Soul Jazz, The 70s and Hidden Gems.

Brother Jack McDuff had spent the 1960s leading soul jazz organ groups, and he is credited with giving guitarist George Benson his first break. He signed to Blue Note in 1969, and Moon Rappin' followed his label debut, Down Home Style. He recorded it in December 1969 at Soundview Recording Studio in Kings Park, New York, produced the session himself and wrote all five pieces. Blue Note's own notes call it "one of the most creatively ambitious albums of his career," and the label issued it in 1970.

"Oblighetto," the second piece on side A, later gave A Tribe Called Quest the foundation for both "Scenario" and "Check the Rhime."

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.

Evergreen Vinyl is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after being marked as delivered by the carrier. Customers are responsible for selecting a shipping address where deliveries can be received safely.

• Please retain all original packaging, including the outer box and packing materials

• Contact us as soon as possible (ideally immediately) after delivery

• Include your order number, a brief description of the issue, and clear photos

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
