This is the independent record store edition of Witch: a single 140-gram black LP in a gatefold jacket, packed with a poster made for this version. The poster carries the album's image of a glowing cross above a draped figure. The band's own store sells the colored pressings under other barcodes; this black LP with the poster is the one reserved for independent shops.

The side A label, printed white on black around a serpent-and-cross emblem, lists five songs, "Shame" through "Wrapped Around Your Finger." Side B holds the other four, beginning with "Heretic" and ending on the band's version of Nine Inch Nails' "Something I Can Never Have."

Guitarist Chris Howorth has described making the band's ninth album, their first with Better Noise Music, as "quite a journey." He has said they first tracked twelve songs with producer Kane Churko, decided they "were trying a little too hard and pushing a little too far in certain directions," then recorded three more with Drew Fulk and reworked some of the originals.

"Crawl," the video above, was the first single and arrived on the day the album was announced in July 2026. Howorth called the song "a reckoning - a reflection that those who dominate and cause pain will ultimately reap what they sow." Dayseeker, Kim Dracula and Kat Von D appear as guests elsewhere on the record.
