Limited Red Vinyl, Single-Sided 12-Inch EP With Etched Side B

This is the red vinyl edition of Century Media's 2019 reissue of Enter The Realm, the demo Iced Earth released on April 12, 1989. The label put it out on April 12, 2019, exactly 30 years later, and it was the first time the recording had appeared on vinyl. All six songs are on side A. Side B has no music and carries an etching instead. The sealed jacket has a Century Media sticker marked "Limited Vinyl Red".

Century Media's announcement says the colored editions are 180-gram pressings that come with an inlay and a poster, and that the audio was mastered from the original sound sources. Each color went to a different outlet. The red was sold through mail-order retailers. Lilac went to Nuclear Blast, white to EMP and transparent sun yellow to CM Distro, and the band sold a transparent blue edition itself. A black pressing was also issued.

Enter The Realm was the band's first and only demo. The 1989 lineup was Gene Adam on vocals, Randall Shawver on lead guitar, Dave Abell on bass, Greg Seymour on drums and Jon Schaffer on rhythm guitar and vocals. Every song except "Nightmares" and the title track later appeared on Iced Earth, the debut album the band recorded after signing with Century Media and released in 1990.

Before this edition, the demo had been available within Dark Genesis, the 2001 box set, where it was remastered and remixed. The 1997 compilation Days of Purgatory also carried its songs, resung by Matt Barlow.
