Mississippi Records presses Music For Stillness on heavyweight clear vinyl at Smashed Plastic in Chicago. It is the first solo album from Harlan Silverman, a member of the Portland, Oregon group The Cosmic Tones Research Trio.

Silverman composed, produced, performed and mixed all ten pieces himself, recording them at Sonic Sanctuary Studios in Portland. The credits list flute, cello, viola, piano, Fender Rhodes, Roland JX-10, modular synthesizers, slide guitar and crystal bowls. Tim Stollenwerk mastered the album, and the photographs are by Camille Bruya.

The bansuri, the bamboo flute of Indian classical music, carries the melodies over cello and ambient layers. The label names three influences, Indian classical music, Japanese environmental music and Western ambient music, and describes an album that "unfolds slowly, inviting rest and quiet presence." It first appeared digitally in March 2026.
