Hans Zimmer - Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Bottle Clear Vinyl)

Vintage Bottle Clear Vinyl 2LP In A Gatefold Jacket

Hans Zimmer's score for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest reaches vinyl for the first time, twenty years after Walt Disney Records issued it on CD and digital. This edition from Walt Disney Records spreads the twelve-track soundtrack album across two LPs pressed on vintage bottle clear vinyl, four sides in all, housed in a gatefold jacket. The front cover carries the film's skull-and-torches title banner over Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley.

The album first appeared on July 4, 2006, three days before Gore Verbinski's film opened in US theaters. Zimmer composed and arranged the score and produced it with Bob Badami, drawing additional music from a team that included Lorne Balfe, Henry Jackman and Geoff Zanelli. Zimmer has said that what sounds like electric guitar on the score is the orchestra itself, run through a guitar amp and piped back into the room.

The first side holds just two tracks, "Jack Sparrow" and "The Kraken," and the second opens on "Davy Jones." "Hello Beastie," the longest track at just over ten minutes, opens the fourth side, and the album closes on Tiësto's remix of "He's a Pirate," the franchise theme that dates back to The Curse of the Black Pearl.
