1982 US pressing, Asylum Records E1-60129, pressed by Specialty Records at Olyphant
This is the 1982 American LP of No Fun Aloud on Asylum, catalogue number E1-60129, made at the Specialty Records Corporation plant in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. Specialty's SP plant code is printed on the center labels and etched into the runouts, and it is what sets this pressing apart from the Allied Record Company copies of E1-60129, which carry AR instead.
The object
One stereo LP. Every side A runout documented for this pressing pairs STERLING, the stamp of Sterling Sound, where the record was mastered, with the inscription "J.R., THANKS FOR THE BALL."; on side B the same STERLING stamp sits beside "TO NELLIE AND MILLIE WITH LOVE". The stamper and mother codes that follow E1 60129 differ between copies.
E1-60129 was issued in a custom printed inner sleeve that carries the album credits.
Context
No Fun Aloud was released in 1982 and this Specialty copy was pressed in that same year, as part of the album's original American issue. Glenn Frey produced the record with Allan Blazek and Jim Ed Norman, recording at Wilder Bros. Studios and Rudy Records in Los Angeles, at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama and at Bayshore Recording Studios in Florida.
The album
The full account of No Fun Aloud belongs to its album page, and this listing sticks to the Olyphant-pressed E1-60129.
