Hybrid Stereo SACD with CD Layer
A hybrid stereo Super Audio CD of the 2026 reissue. Org Music captured the SACD layer directly from the all-analog processing chain while Dave Gardner was cutting the 45 RPM double LP, so the disc carries the same mastering pass as that edition. A standard CD layer plays in any CD or SACD player.
Catherine Vericolli handled archival and restoration of the original master tapes before the transfer, and Nick King is credited with additional engineering.
Maggot Brain was Funkadelic's third album for Westbound Records, recorded in Detroit and released in July 1971 with George Clinton producing.
