This is Shika Shika's vinyl edition of Hogar, catalog number LPSHSH80: a single 180-gram LP of nine tracks, five on side A and four on side B, with a printed inner sleeve.

El Búho is the project of Robin Perkins, a producer born in northern England whose music joins Latin American folk, organic electronica, dub, field recordings and natural sound. Hogar is Spanish for home, and the label traces the word to the Latin focaris, meaning hearth or fire. According to Shika Shika, the album grew out of building a home with his family in France, alongside reflections on migration, displacement and the climate crisis.

The record is built around found sounds: recordings of Perkins' home life, recordings made on the road and on islands, and meetings with friends over food and tea. Guests include Pita Amor on "Cumbia de Polvo," Humazapas and Mafiandina on "Adiós," Chuskupura and Eat My Butterfly on "Canto Al Sol," Ana María Vahos on "Nuevos Horizontes," and Plu Con Pla and Miguel Guerra Guerrero on "La Vida Se Va."

Perkins' breakthrough came with the Cenotes EP on Wonderwheel in 2015, followed by the albums Balance and Camino de Flores. His remix work includes tracks by Bomba Estéreo, Quantic and Nickodemus.
