The Edifier R1280DB builds on the familiar silhouette of the R1280 series, adding modern connectivity without changing what made the original so dependable. It keeps the clean wood-grain enclosure and straightforward control layout—then expands the system with Bluetooth, optical, and coaxial inputs for greater flexibility across analog and digital sources.
This is a 2.0 active bookshelf speaker system rated at 42 watts RMS (21W + 21W). Each speaker pairs a 4-inch (116mm) mid-bass driver with a 13mm silk dome tweeter, tuned through a 2-way active design. The result is a balanced presentation with defined low-end weight, clear mids, and smooth high-frequency detail. A calibrated, flared front-facing bass reflex port reinforces low frequencies while maintaining control and minimizing boom.
On the side panel of the active speaker, bass, treble, and master volume dials allow for quick tonal adjustments. A wireless remote control provides convenient switching between inputs, volume adjustment, and power control from across the room. One speaker houses the amplification and inputs; the second connects via included speaker cable—simple, direct, and easy to integrate.
With Bluetooth support alongside optical, coaxial, and dual RCA inputs, the R1280DB accommodates a wide range of systems—from turntables with built-in preamps and desktop setups to TVs and digital sources. The 100% MDF wooden enclosures are designed to reduce acoustic resonance, supporting cleaner playback at everyday listening levels.

The R1280DB connects easily to turntables with a built-in phono preamp via RCA inputs.
