Vidrig Vår is Dungen's twelfth album, and their first since En är för mycket och tusen aldrig nog in 2022. It lands twenty-five years after the band's self-titled debut. Gustav Ejstes produced it with Mattias Glavå, described in the label's notes as the band's go-to producer.

The record follows the end of a long relationship, sung in Swedish as Ejstes has always sung. The label's notes call it an open and intimate examination of that ending, and point to the terrible spring the title names. "En gång i timmen," issued as the first single on July 2, 2026, sets flutes against overdriven guitar and a low bass pulse across an arrangement that keeps shifting under itself.

Dungen is Gustav Ejstes, Reine Fiske on guitar, Mattias Gustavsson on bass and Johan Holmegård on drums. Swedish lyrics have not kept the audience domestic. The band broke internationally with Ta det lugnt in 2004, and the label's copy notes that Kevin Parker asked them to mix the first Tame Impala record; Jack White and Fleet Foxes are named there among their listeners.

This is the black pressing: a single LP with a printed inner sleeve carrying the lyrics, on Ejstes' own Skolhaus label. An ice blue pressing and a CD carry their own barcodes and are separate records on this site.
