InsideOut issued this jewel-case edition to replace the special-edition digipak, which sold out. One disc with booklet, eight tracks, seventy-one minutes, and no bonus material.

Parasomnia is Dream Theater's sixteenth studio album and came out on February 7, 2025. It is the band's first full-length with Mike Portnoy behind the kit since Black Clouds & Silver Linings in 2009; he rejoined in October 2023, thirteen years after leaving. James LaBrie, John Petrucci, John Myung and Jordan Rudess complete the lineup.

The album takes its name and subject from parasomnias, the sleep disorders that cover night terrors, sleepwalking and the other things that happen to people between waking and dreaming. It runs from the instrumental opener "In the Arms of Morpheus" to the nineteen-minute closer "The Shadow Man Incident."

Petrucci produced it at DTHQ on Long Island between February and July 2024, with James Meslin engineering and Andy Sneap mixing and mastering. Mark Gittins handled the Dolby Atmos mix, and Hugh Syme did the artwork.

It reached number forty-one on the Billboard 200 and number six on Billboard's Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, topped the UK Rock & Metal Albums chart, and placed third in Germany and second in Switzerland.
