Indie Exclusive Coke Bottle Green Vinyl LP

This is the Indie Exclusive pressing of Dragonflies, the self-titled debut from Dhani Harrison and Nigel Godrich, on coke bottle green 140 gram vinyl. It is issued by Dark Horse Records through BMG, alongside a standard black LP and a CD.

The two became close during the pandemic, when Harrison went to Godrich for advice on his 2023 album INNERSTANDING, and those conversations turned into sessions together at a studio in Brixton. Harrison sings and plays guitar, while Godrich shaped the songs as they were built up from tape loops. "It's like one person throwing something in the air and the other person catching it," Godrich has said.

Joey Waronker, Godrich's bandmate in Atoms for Peace, adds percussion, and David Campbell wrote the string arrangements. The band name was Godrich's suggestion. "Dragonflies are a symbol of spiritual enlightenment," Harrison has said. "When Nigel suggested the name, I was like, yeah, sold, done."

Godrich has produced every Radiohead studio album since OK Computer in 1997 and is a founding member of Atoms for Peace and Ultraísta. Harrison, a two-time Grammy winner, first came to wider attention with his band thenewno2 and has released the solo albums IN///PARALLEL (2017) and INNERSTANDING, as well as recording with Fistful of Mercy and scoring for film and television.

"Slower," the album's opening track and lead single, was released with a hand-drawn animated video directed by RUFFMERCY.
