This is the 2026 clear purple repress of Tokyo 1980s Victor Edition (The Vinyl Collection), DJ Notoya's single-LP selection of boogie, funk and modern soul drawn from the Victor Entertainment catalog. It is a Japanese release on Victor, catalog number NJS-851, packaged with an obi strip. The white center labels carry the catalog number, the 33 1/3 RPM speed and a Made in Japan line.

The Vinyl Collection first reached vinyl in August 2025 as part of Japan's CITY POP on VINYL 2025 series. This edition presses the same eight-track running order on clear purple.

Victor's notes describe DJ Notoya as one of the first DJs in Japan to spotlight Japanese music, and credit his mix CD work with drawing attention from overseas. The label says the tracks were chosen from his earlier digital compilations for Victor, which were well received abroad, and narrowed down specifically for the LP.

The label singles out Reiko Takahashi's "Sunset Road," noting that its original 7-inch single has become hard to find. The Side A label dates its four songs between 1983 and 1989, and Side B turns to Hisako Manda, Irene Forleen, Yoko Oginome and Ichiro Nitta. The cover painting is by Hiroshi Nagai.
