Cadiz Music's 2026 twelve-inch reissue of Conflict's first record, split by treatment: side A carries the four songs fully remixed by Gav King from the original multitracks, side B the 1982 mixes remastered from the quarter-inch tapes by Sid Truelove of Rubella Ballet. Pressed on granite eco vinyl as a limited edition, with a reproduction of the original "Disarm or Die" sticker.

The House That Man Built was recorded and mixed at Southern Studios in north London in 1981 and issued the following year on Crass Records as 221984/1, a 7-inch 45 rpm EP in a six-panel fold-out poster sleeve. John Loder engineered it and Penny Rimbaud of Crass produced, credited on the original sleeve as Elvis Rimrod. It was the first release by the band, formed in south-east London in 1981.

The multitrack tapes came back to the band after Loder's death and were baked and digitized for a remix that waited on Conflict's new album. Colin Jerwood, the band's singer, died before that work was finished; Gav King, Conflict's guitarist for the past eighteen years, completed it.
