Yellow Smoke Vinyl, Limited To 499 Copies, With A Reproduction Of The Original Italian Cinema Poster

This is a new recording, not the 1982 soundtrack album. Rustblade's own copy says so — "Claudio Simonetti and his Goblins create a new version of the soundtrack for Tenebre, the film by Dario Argento" — and the credits confirm it: Simonetti recorded, mixed and produced it at Acquario Studio in Lugano, Switzerland, with bass and drums tracked by Cecilia Nappo and Federico Maragoni in Viterbo and guitar by Daniele Amador in Rome. That is the current Claudio Simonetti's Goblin lineup. Massimo Morante, who played guitar on the 1982 original, died in 2022. Some retail listings describe this record as the original Cinevox recording; they are wrong.

The pressing is limited to 499 copies on yellow vinyl with black smoke, and comes with a reproduction of the original Italian cinema poster, carrying the Titanus logo and the full Italian credit block. Stefano Rossello did the graphic design.

Rustblade on the music: "The main characteristic of this score is its ability to blend 1980s electronic dance melodies, typical of Italo disco, with a highly original electronic horror prog rock sound. Featuring vocoder, electronic drums, and pulsating basslines."

Dario Argento's Tenebre opened in Italy on 27 October 1982, produced by Sigma Cinematografica and distributed by Titanus. Goblin had broken up in 1980, so Argento reunited Simonetti, Fabio Pignatelli and Morante for the film; because the band's former drummer held the rights to the Goblin name, the 1982 score was credited Simonetti-Pignatelli-Morante. Cinevox issued that recording in 1982.

The release is timed to the band's Tenebre North American tour, which runs 21 October to 23 November 2026, playing the score live to a screening of the film.
