Cimafunk y La Tribu - Te Toca (Green Vinyl)

Olive Green Vinyl LP

This pressing of Te Toca is on olive green vinyl, the edition the band's own store lists as Olive; a root beer colored edition was sold alongside it. The jacket credits the album to Cimafunk y La Tribu and carries the words "en Criteria Studios" on its front collage. The album first appeared digitally in May 2026 on Mala Cabeza Records, distributed by Thirty Tigers.

The artist's store describes Te Toca as Cimafunk's first record with his band, La Tribu: recorded live at Criteria Studios in Miami, with seven original songs and a live remake of "Paciente," one of his first solo releases. According to the label's notes, the tracks were cut over three days with every musician playing at the same time in the same room and nothing re-recorded, and the title can mean "it's your turn."

WNCW lists La Tribu as Dr. Zapa (musical director and drums), Hilaria Cacao (trombone and vocals), Katy Cacao (saxophone and vocals), Machete (percussion and vocals), Big Happy (minor percussion and vocals), Wao (piano), El Ra (bass) and El Friki (guitar).

Cimafunk is Erik Alejandro Iglesias Rodríguez, born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, in 1989. He studied medicine for two years before moving to Havana in 2010, took his stage name from the cimarrones who escaped slavery in colonial Cuba, and self-released his debut album, Terapia, in 2017. His 2021 album El Alimento, with guests including George Clinton, Lupe Fiasco and CeeLo Green, was nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 65th Grammy Awards, and Pa' Tu Cuerpa followed in 2024. He has been based in New Orleans since 2022.
