Clear Salmon Pink Vinyl, First-Pressing Limited Edition With Obi

Casiopea's thirteenth studio album, cut back to vinyl for Universal Music Japan's Light Mellow presents J-FUSION Renaissance series. Katsutoshi Kitamura both remastered the album and cut the lacquer at Mixer's Labo. The pressing is limited to a first run, on clear salmon pink vinyl, and ships with an obi.

The band recorded Euphony at Studio Jive in Tokyo between January 7 and February 5, 1988, for AURA, the imprint they had set up under Polydor. It was the label's second release. After several albums made abroad, the group used no guest musicians here and cut the record as a quartet at their home studio: Issei Noro on guitar, who also produced, Minoru Mukaiya on keyboards, Tetsuo Sakurai on bass and Akira Jimbo on drums.

The writing is split four ways. Noro wrote seven of the eleven pieces, Mukaiya wrote "Old Times" and "Hacker", Jimbo wrote "Solid Swing" and Sakurai wrote "Red Zone". It is the last Casiopea album to feature the Sakurai and Jimbo rhythm section, who left afterwards and went on to form Jimsaku.

Originally issued in Japan on AURA, catalogue 28MX-2549, on April 25, 1988.
