Indie Exclusive Blue Dream Splash Double LP, 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

This indie-retail exclusive puts the 10th anniversary deluxe edition of case/lang/veirs on two LPs pressed in Blue Dream Splash vinyl and cut at 33 1/3 RPM. Next to the fourteen original studio tracks, it adds "Accidental Tattoo," a song not previously released, and a run of unreleased live recordings made on the trio's original 2016 tour. Anti- announced the edition on June 17, 2026, ten years to the day after the album first came out, and issued it on September 4, 2026.

By lang's account, "Accidental Tattoo" came out of a sudden creative spark among the three of them a couple of years before the reissue. Case wrote the lyrics; lang and Veirs shaped that poetry into arrangements and melodies, and lang then finished the production with Larry Goldings. The live material has each singer taking up the others' songs, among them Case's "Hold On, Hold On," lang's "Constant Craving" and Veirs's "July Flame."

The record itself started with a 2014 email from k.d. lang to Neko Case and Laura Veirs suggesting they make an album together, at a point when the three barely knew one another. Tucker Martine produced the sessions in November 2015, with a band of Glenn Kotche on drums, Sebastian Steinberg on bass, Rob Burger on keys and Tim Young on guitar. Reviewing it for Pitchfork, Laura Snapes took up the comparisons to Trio, the 1987 album by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, and lang herself called it a one-off. "Down I-5" borrows a couplet from William Blake that the Doors had used earlier in "End of the Night."
