This is The Prophet as issued in the Verve Vault Series, the label's all-analog 180-gram reissue program drawn from the Verve, Impulse! and Mercury catalogs. Verve states that every title in the series is mastered from the analog tapes and pressed at Optimal, and the runouts on this pressing carry the RKS Sterling mark of mastering engineer Ryan K. Smith. The jacket keeps the original V6-8769 catalog number and the Stereo banner across the top.
Producer Esmond Edwards ran the date, with Don Sebesky arranging and conducting around Tjader's vibraphone. The players include Hubert Laws on flute, João Donato on organ, Red Mitchell on bass, Ed Thigpen on drums and Marvin Stamm on trumpet. Donato also wrote three of the eight pieces: "Warm Song," "Aquarius" and "Tema Teimoso." The opener, "Souled Out," sets the vibes against strings and a wordless female chorus.
Verve released the album in 1968, near the end of a run with the label that began when Tjader left Fantasy and that produced his biggest seller, Soul Sauce. "Aquarius" was later sampled by A Tribe Called Quest across their album Midnight Marauders.
Evergreen Vinyl ships records with care and attention to detail, using established carriers and packaging practices designed to protect physical media in transit.

Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–3 business days after payment is received. Orders placed on weekends or holidays are processed on the next business day.
Pre-orders generally ship on or around the official release date of the title. When available, estimated ship timing is noted on the product page.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates
Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.
Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.
While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
Signature Requirements
Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.
