p(doom) lists this pressing as Classic Black: a single 180-gram LP in a jacket with an inner sleeve and a pullout poster. The label describes the wax as fully recyclable, produced by injection molding and made without PVC. A Trough Lolly Yellow pressing of the same record is issued alongside it.

Out In Oslo is the sixth studio album by C.O.F.F.I.N, a Sydney band formed in 2005 whose name stands for Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway, printed across the back of the jacket. It follows Australia Stops, nominated for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album at the 2023 ARIA Awards.

Declan Mehrtens of Amyl and The Sniffers produced the record, with vocals co-produced by Jason Whalley of Frenzal Rhomb. All eleven songs are written and composed by the band, and the sleeve photograph is by Dougal Gorman. It is released through p(doom), the label founded by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The label's notes describe an album built on "themes of distance, identity and belonging."

"Sleep In It" arrived in June 2026 and "Think Bad," heard above, followed in July. Of that song, drummer and frontman Ben Portnoy said: "'Think Bad' describes the use of negativity to fuel forward motion. It's about using hard thoughts as a compass, reminding yourself that not everything that feels good is good for you, while at the same time, understanding that the combined weight of cynicism and reckless behaviour can make the greatest losses."
