Heartbeat Records issued The Fittest Of The Fittest in the United States in 1983 as HB22, a number that also appears in the form HB-22. Bill Kipper cut the lacquers at Masterdisk, and Wakefield Manufacturing pressed the discs.

The object

Side A's deadwax reads HB 22-A-1 MASTERDISK-BK 41952-A1 and side B's HB 22-B-1 MASTERDISK-BK 41952-B1; MASTERDISK and a Wakefield W-over-M logo are stamped, the rest etched. The jacket for HB22 was made in Canada.

Context

1983 is the year of both the album and this Heartbeat issue, which appeared alongside EMI's European pressings and the Radic edition in the UK. HB22 carries a 1983 phonographic copyright in the name of EMI Records Ltd. The songs were recorded and mixed at Tuff Gong Recording Studio, with Errol Brown engineering and mixing alongside Winston Rodney.
