1985 US pressing, Heartbeat Records HB33
Resistance was released in 1985 on Heartbeat Records as HB33, and this is the American LP of that year. Tom Coyne cut the lacquers at Frankford/Wayne Mastering Labs.
The object
Etched in the deadwax are HB-33-A SMA 44062 F/W ¢ on side A and 44062 SMA HB-33-B on side B; the F/W and the ¢ on side A are the Frankford/Wayne and Tom Coyne marks. The labels give the catalog number as 33 (44062), and this edition's Canadian-made jacket has no barcode on its back. Art concept and photography for Resistance are credited to Wicked And Wild.
Context
Resistance and this HB33 LP both date from 1985, with the phonographic copyright held by Poli-Rhythm Ltd. Recording took place at Tuff Gong, with horns for Mek We Yadd and Jah Feeling added at Aquarius in Kingston; Jack Nuber mixed the album at Skyline Studios, and Nelson Miller co-produced with Winston Rodney.
