Manslayer is the second album from Brat, the New Orleans four-piece of Liz Selfish (vocals), Brenner Moate (guitar), Ian Hennessey (bass) and Dustin Eagan (drums), who formed during Mardi Gras in 2020. It follows their 2024 debut Social Grace and runs to seventeen tracks.

The record was tracked at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, with Andy Nelson of Weekend Nachos producing, engineering and mixing, and Brad Boatright mastering. Prosthetic's notes describe the result as primitive death metal, garroting thrash and swamp-drenched hardcore. The cover painting is by Wes Benscoter, whose work has appeared on records by Slayer and Mortician.

Two guests appear: David Davidson of Revocation on "Femicidal Vengeance" and Candace Buckingham of Walls of Jericho on "Blistered Tongues." Selfish has said the album takes its frame from country songs about women avenging themselves, a set of tropes she describes as uncommon in death metal. The title track arrived first, with a video directed by John Colgan; "Speculum Bleed" followed as the second single.

Brat have spent the three years since Social Grace on the road, sharing bills with Gwar, Napalm Death, Crowbar, Cro-Mags and Full of Hell.
