1984 UK pressing, Trojan Records TRLS 221, lacquers cut at EMI
Trojan Records issued In The Beginning in the United Kingdom on 16 January 1984 under catalog number TRLS 221, gathering thirteen early Wailers recordings across two sides.
The object
Side A of this copy is etched LYN-13903-1EMI and TRLS-221-A, side B LYN-13904-2EMI and TRLS-221-B, the EMI marks and LYN cutting numbers placing the lacquers at EMI. The TRLS 221 jacket is textured. Mastering on this Trojan issue is credited to Allan Rouse and Dave Reckless.
Context
1984 is the year of both the compilation and this British copy. Trojan's Dutch pressing of TRLS 221 came out the same year with different matrix numbers, TRL221 A 37C1 and TRL221 B 37C1, and a later undated UK reissue of the same number followed.
