1984 Canadian reissue, Island Records ISL 9498, pressed by Cinram
This is the 1984 Canadian reissue of Exodus, with ISL 9498 on its labels and ISL-9498 on the back cover and spine. MCA Records (Canada) manufactured and distributed it for Island.
The object
The side 1 label is red and the side 2 label is yellow, each printed in black. Cinram pressed the disc from plates made at Quality Records Limited, and the CR etched in the side A runout is Cinram's plant mark. Both runouts show the letters XILP struck through beside the ISL number, and the side B matrix reads 9498X. The gold front cover, designed by Neville Garrick, carries the Exodus title in red.
Context
Island's Canadian pressings of Exodus from 1977 into the early 1980s were numbered XILP 9498, the prefix cancelled in this record's deadwax. The 1984 reissue brought the ISL number, the red and yellow labels and MCA distribution, seven years after the album's release.
