This is Time Heals Everything on a single classic black LP, released by Dirty Science and distributed by Fat Beats. The center labels mark the two sides C and D and number the ten songs 13 through 22. Exile produced the album and Blu wrote it; Bobby Campbell mixed it, and Mike Bozzi mastered it at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Dirty Science states that the same mastering serves every format. The labels also credit Paul Dateh for a violin arrangement, Dan Seeff on bass and Javier Santiago on piano.

Blu and Exile met in the mid-2000s, when Blu was working as a hype man for groups including Slum Village and Emanon, and formed the duo in 2007. Their debut that year, Below the Heavens, was called "one of 2007's most celebrated hip-hop releases" by XXL. Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them followed in 2012, Miles: From an Interlude Called Life in 2020, timed to the thirteenth anniversary of Below the Heavens, and Love (the) Ominous World in 2024. Time Heals Everything, their fifth album, was first released on April 20, 2026.

Dirty Science's notes tie the opener, "Soul Unusual," to the earlier "Soul Provider" and "Soul Amazing." "The word special comes to mind," Blu says of it. "This is my perspective of those songs now." Exile says the record went through several versions before it settled: "Once I changed the beat, it really came together for me, and his words hit differently." Rome Streetz and ICECOLDBISHOP join Blu on "Crumbs," and Black Thought and Mach-Hommy on "T.S.O.D." Ahmad Anwar appears twice, Fashawn and Tobi once each, and Saba and the choir Voices Of Creation close the record on the title track.
