Partisan issues the black pressing of Violins as PTSN3070-1: one LP in a single jacket, olive-yellow labels, cut at 33 1/3 rpm and manufactured in Canada. Five songs sit on side A and six on side B. The printed inner sleeve carries the lyrics and credits, and a sticker is included.

Sabrina Teitelbaum built the album's eleven songs with Yves Rothman, working them up as demos and then cutting them live with her band. "I felt like I wasn't walking in the dark anymore," she said of those sessions, and she has described the writing as pulled between two sets of images: "When I was writing, I felt really drawn to images of patience and kindness - for example putting your head on someone's shoulder - alongside images of violence."

Speaking to Rolling Stone at the announcement, she put the intent plainly: "This record's heavy in a way. There's more imagery. But my main goal with this record was to have songs that hit hard."

Violins lands in the middle of a long touring year. Blondshell's 2026 dates run July through December across North America, Europe and the UK, with Bully, Starcleaner Reunion, Prewn, TTSSFU and Theatre appearing along the way.
